Alpaca Yarn

Alpaca yarn direct from our own alpacas. We have many of the natural colors that alpaca fleece comes in. 100% natural fibers. We shear our alpacas once a year in a process that does not harm the alpacas and send the best part to an excellent mini-mill where it is dehaired and spun to our specifications, creating a yarn that is beautiful in natural colors and exquisitely soft. Alapca yarn is great for hand or machine knitting. Alpaca yarn is incredibly warm, breathable, extremely soft and durable.

Alpaca Rovings

Our alpaca rovings are alpaca fleece that has been dehaired, cleaned and carded into rovings or thin strips that are ready to spin into yarn for those hand-spinners. We have 100% alpaca fleece rovings in white and other natural colors.

Alpaca Quilt Batting

Alpaca quilt batting is quite durable so that it makes a suitable center to which you can easily pin your quilt peices. It's thin enough to work well with either hand-stitched or machine-stitched quilting projects. Quilt batting, needle punched.

Felted Alpaca Hats

Alpaca fleece has the wonderful characteristic of turning from loose wool or yarn into felt when agitated in warm water. This allows fiber artist to create the most delightful hats, purses and three-dimensional artwork. Here are some photos of hand-knit, felted hats available in our yarn store.

Handwoven Alpaca Rugs

These handwoven alpaca rugs are made from the slightly coarser fleece from the legs and necks of the alpacas. It's a little too coarse to be worn next to the skin, but oh so perfect for your feet!

We have some hand-knit alpaca scarves from our own yarn and also beautiful, baby fine woven alpaca scarves imported from Peru.

Alpaca Throw Blankets

We have alpaca blankets (sofa throws) in 100% baby alpaca and alpaca blends. These are really luxurious additions to your living room and excellent, special gifts.

Soft alpaca gloves, imported from Peru. We also have fingerless gloves--great for typing in a cold room.

Wash with a gentle detergent (shampoo, dish soap, or wool wash) by hand in cool water. Lay flat to dray.
